Career Horizons is an enterprise established in 1995 with a mission to help
people get what they want: a better plan, a better job and a better life. Now,
with more than 20,000 motivated and happy customers behind us, we are
working even harder to tackle the barriers and challenges our clients face.
Today, Career Horizons works on behalf of both public and private institutions
to provide employment programs and vocational rehabilitation (VR) services.
Our VR clients may face barriers including physical disabilities, hearing
or vision impairments, learning disabilities, or mental health concerns.
Through our various programs, we have seen our clients overcome
significant barriers, with over 80% returning to work.

  • EMPLOYMENT PLANNING

    The first step usually involves preparing an employment
    plan with our client. At this stage of the process, we carefully
    identify each client's unique goals, skills, abilities, aptitudes
    and barriers in order to determine what comes next,
    and that's where the real work starts.

  • JOB SEARCH ASSISTANCE

    Our Specialty. With thousands of clients having attended
    Career Horizons' job search programs and career planning
    seminars, we are the runaway leader in quality and quantity
    of job finding. Available via group or one-on-one assistance,
    all clients will hone their resumes, cover letters, labour
    market knowledge, networking skills and develop winning
    interview strategies. Just imagine how it feels to hear the
    phrase "you're hired"!

  • JOB PLACEMENT

    These on-the-job training programs are a key element on
    the road to competitive employment for our clients. Our job
    developers are able to co-ordinate and supervise paid job
    placements for full or part time work, and, as an added
    incentive, we also co-ordinate wage subsidy programs
    for employers who are willing to offer work opportunities
    for persons with disabilities.

  • JOB COACHING

    In the event a client requires an added level of support
    when entering the workforce, job coaches are available
    to assist a client in learning new skills and routines.
    Employers benefit too, as the added presence of a coach
    makes our program run smoothly without strain on existing
    staff or resources. With a plan to gradually reduce
    coaching, clients are able to develop skills safely and
    at an appropriate pace.
